Understanding TicketPlan Cancellation Protection

We offer TicketPlan Cancellation Protection for non-refundable tickets. It provides extra protection if you are forced to cancel your trip due to specific events beyond your control.

What is Cancellation Protection?

If you place an order that contains only non-refundable tickets, you will be offered Cancellation Protection at checkout. It is offered by Loco2 in collaboration with another company called Ticketplan.

If you add TicketPlan to your order, you'll have extra protection if you are unable to travel due to circumstances such as serious injury, illness or non-running of one part of your trip that leads to the cancellation of the entire journey. To check what cases are covered, please see the full TicketPlan Terms and Conditions.

Reimbursement will only be available for the cost of the tickets so Ticketplan Cancellation Protection is not a substitute for travel insurance. For example, it won't cover any additional costs you incur due to the cancellation e.g. hotels etc.

Adding TicketPlan to your order

  • You can add Cancellation Protection to your order at Checkout.
  • You will only be offered the option to add TicketPlan Cancellation Protection if all the tickets in your basket are non-refundable.
  • The cost of Cancellation Protection depends on the total value of your order.
  • It is not possible to add Cancellation Protection to an order after the booking has been completed.

Applying for reimbursement

If you journey was cancelled or delayed, you may be eligible for compensation from the operator. Please see our guide to Seeking compensation for a delay or cancellation before applying through TicketPlan.

To apply for reimbursement, fill out an online form or download a copy to print and send by post. This must be done as soon as reasonably possible and no later than 14 days after you have become aware of circumstances that may lead you to cancel your trip.

You will need to provide a copy of your Loco2 booking confirmation email, PDF or original unused tickets (if collected or issued by post) along with evidence showing the reason for your cancellation. For details of what evidence will be requested please see the "Requesting reimbursement" section of the TicketPlan Terms and Conditions.
